Gypaetus barbatus…

Gypaetus barbatus is the only member of the genus Vulture.
Hu vultures feed mainly on bare bones. The vulture’s oesophagus is very flexible, so it can swallow a huge bone (up to the bovine spine). If the bone is too big, the vulture will fly high with it in its mouth and throw it to swallow size.
Because the ground environment is very complex, in order to find the corpses more smoothly, they also pay great attention to the observation of crows, kites, jackals, hyenas and other carnivorous animals, and are especially good at using ravens. Whenever the Raven finds food and sings loudly, the vulture flies over to compete for food, and pushes the Raven aside so that it can only pick up some meat scraps to fill its hunger; and when the Raven finds danger, while singing and flying away, the vulture also flees quickly. In the case of food shortage, small chicks sometimes become food for big chicks…
At the beginning of the 20th century, Hu vulture was a common bird in some alpine areas of Europe. Later, the local people mistakenly believed that it was a harmful bird for animal husbandry and killed it, resulting in a sharp decline in its number.
