Colinus virginianus…

Colinus virginianus is a land bird native to North America, northern Central America and the Caribbean Sea. They were first classified in the Pheasant family, but now they are classified in the Tooth Quail family.
The mountain-toothed quail has dark markings behind its eyes. The male’s markings are black and the female’s are brown. The feathers of males are white between the markings, and those of females are yellowish brown. Their bodies are brown with black or white spots, weighing an average of 145-200 grams.
The calls of mountain-toothed quails are clear, mostly from males in spring and summer. Others include squeaky whistles.
Mountain-toothed quails mainly inhabit coniferous forests, hardwood forests and herbal forests. Its habitat ranges from Mexico to Colorado in the eastern part of the country and from the north to the north and northeast of the Midwest. In the southern United States, Royal Valley is their main food.
The community of mountain-toothed Quail in non-breeding season is composed of 5-30 members. When they begin to reproduce in mid-April, their communities will disintegrate. At this point they will pair up with the opposite sex. The eggs will hatch in 23 days. Bird’s eggs are white and have tips at the end.
Both males and females hatch eggs, but mostly by females. If the first egg fails to hatch, they will regenerate and hatch. If hatched successfully, the chicks can leave the nest in 24 hours. Female birds can lay and hatch three batches of eggs during the breeding season until mid-October.
Mountain-toothed quail is a popular hunting bird, especially in the southern United States. They are official hunting birds in Tennessee, Georgia and Washington. Habitat destruction threatens their wild communities, and they are then raised in large numbers for hunting purposes (emmm is fattened and released, and then hunted??).
