人生不相见，How rarely together friends are ! 动如参与商。As morning star with evening star .
今夕复何夕，O what a fair night is tonight ! 共此灯烛光。Together we share candlelight .
少壮能几时，How long can last our youthful years .鬓发各已苍。Gray hair on our temples appears .
访旧半为鬼，We find half of our friends departed.惊呼热中肠。How can we not cry broken -hearted!
焉知二十载，After twenty years who knows then 重上君子堂。l came into your hall again ?
昔别君未婚，Unmarried twenty years ago ,儿女忽成行。Now you have children in a row .
怡然敬父执，Seeing their father’s friend at home .问我来何方。They ‘re glad to ask where l come from .
问答未及已，Our talk has not come to an end.儿女罗酒浆。When wine is offered to a friend .
夜雨剪春韭，They bring leeks cut after night rain 新炊间黄梁。And millet cooked with new grain .
主称会面难，The host says "lt is hard to meet ,"一举累十觞。Let us drink ten cups of wine sweet .
十觞亦不醉，Ten cupfuls can not make me drunk 感子故意长。For deep in your love l am sunk .
明日隔山岳，Mountains will divide us tomorrow 世事两茫茫。O what can we foresee but sorrow !
