Xianghai Nature Reserve is located more than 60 kilometers northwest of Tongyu County, Jilin Province, with a total area of more than 1000 square kilometers. It is known as "Changbai in the East and Xianghai in the west". In 1992, it was listed as one of the first international important wetlands in China by the Wetland Convention.
