Located north of Nanshan Road in the county seat, this paper introduces the background, functions and events of the construction of Yuanzhong Capital, as well as the display of the architectural components of the site.
In the eleventh year of Dade (1307), Yuanwuzong Haishan ordered the construction of Zhongdu in Wangwu Chadu (now Baichengzi, Zhantouying Township, Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou City), which is also known as Helin, Yuandou (now Beijing) and Yuanshangdu (now Zhenglan Qidong, Inner Mongolia), and the Four Capital of Mongolia and Yuan (now Zhenglan Qidong). In the eighteenth year (1358), the palace was burned down by the Red Scarf Army, leaving only the remains of the city wall. From the analysis of the site, it can be divided into outer city, middle city, inner city, city wall and corner building. The unearthed cultural relics are represented by more than 80 Chinese white jade stings.
