The mausoleum was built and expanded three times:
During the period of the tomb of the Princess of Taiyuan, 13 stone carvings were laid out in front of the dump-shaped earth closure, including a stone stone stele, a pair of stone pillars, two pairs of stone tigers, two pairs of stone sheep and one pair of stone men, the scale of which corresponds to the inner city we see today.
During the period of Shunyi Mausoleum, the mausoleum wall was built around the cemetery, and eight pairs of stone men were placed inside the South gate, totaling 16 stone carvings.
In Shunling period, there were many pairs of large stone statues besides the inner city’s mausoleum wall, including a stone stone stele in Nanmen, a pair of stone pillars, a pair of unicorns, three pairs of stone men, a pair of stone lions in Dongmen, a pair of stone lions in Ximen, a pair of stone lions in Beimen, three pairs of stone horses and three pairs of horsemen, totaling 31 stone carvings.
At present, there are 34 stone carvings, 13 stone men and 3 Stone sheep in the South Gate of Neicheng, and a pair of lions and Tianlu outside the South Gate of Neicheng. There are three pairs of squatting lions in the east, West and north of the outer city, and three pairs of stone horses outside the North gate, which are now incomplete. Among them, walking lion and Tianlu are the representatives.
The two Tianlu are 4.5 meters tall, 4.2 meters long and 1.9 meters wide. Lion walking, 3.15 meters high, 3.2 meters long and 1.45 meters wide. It’s magnificent to appreciate it on the spot.
The reason of time is that it’s cloudy again. So we need to go there again next year and take a remake.
