Whale sharks cross the Pacific Ocean: more than 10,000 kilometers straight from Panama to the Mariana Trench
Guzman et al. marked three female whale sharks in Panama’s Coiba National Park in Central America. The results showed that a whale shark named Anne swam 20,142 kilometers (1,819 kilometers) from Panama in Central America to the Mariana Trench.
The picture shows the whale shark’s route across the Pacific Ocean.
