乐生活Black-bellied Starling, Venice, South Africa, 22 July 2019.
There are many glowing starlings in Africa. Most of them are similar in length. Their colours are metallic black-blue or green-blue. Except for a few species which can be clearly separated in body shape, others can only be distinguished according to their eyes, markings, distribution areas and slight differences in body colour.
In 2018, in Shenzhen Bay Park, Shenzhen, there was a home run away starling that attracted many bird watching fans. The bird survived in the wild for more than a month, and then disappeared. It was said that the bird lovers used a pin to bait the bread bug, causing the bird to swallow the pin and die.
