Today I m going to introduce Sciurus to you.

Today, Sciurus vulgaris, like other squirrels, has sharp and curved claws that allow them to climb even on half-empty branches. It is generally believed that the long tails of squirrels can help them balance, but their tails also have a wonderful function, when they sleep, the tail acts as a quilt, wrapped in the body to play a thermal role. Interestingly, the color of their fur is not unchanged. As time goes on and the location changes, their fur will also show different colors, ranging from black to brown or even red. In other parts of Europe and Asia, different kinds of fur exist at the same time, just like human hair color.
Eurasian red squirrels are native to temperate coniferous forests, but they are also found in temperate broad-leaved forests. They love to build their nests on coniferous trees. Sometimes they live in caves or in caves left by woodpeckers. Most of them are lone rangers who refuse to share their food, but in special times, such as non-breeding season or severe winter, they also gather together to warm each other in their nests. When living in groups, class system will be formed. Individuals who occupy leading positions generally tend to be older and older females.
Their food is mainly seeds. In addition, fungi, eggs, berries and young branches are also available for their stomachs. When food is scarce, they also grab the sap from the bark. They have many natural enemies, such as pinecones, wild cats and ferrets, which mainly attack young individuals. Owls and the hawks and common birds of prey on them. Red foxes and wild dogs are their land threats.
