There are two famous peacocks: one is Confucius Xuan in the Romance of Sealing the Gods, who is said to be an invincible adversary of the sage; the other is the peacock princess in Journey to the West, who also secretly fell in love with the elder Tang, but was robbed by the ROC and forced to marry. The difference between the ROC and the peacock is estimated to be many generations.
