With the release date approaching, DBX, the first SUV model owned by British super luxury automaker Aston Martin, entered the final stage of pre-production testing. As the first multi-terrain conquering vehicle in Aston Martin’s history, the DBX prototype has experienced the most comprehensive global testing project of all Aston Martin products so far. Today, Aston Martin officially confirms the engine configuration and output parameters to build DBX’s powerful power performance.
To ensure DBX’s multi-terrain driving quality and brand-consistent driving experience, Mr. Matt Becker, chief engineer of Aston Martin, and his team conducted a series of rigorous all-terrain and high-performance track tests in extreme environments around the world, including in locations adjacent to Bank of England. Two major engineering centers of the Stone and Nurburgring tracks in Germany.
In the endurance test of the Nurburgring North Ring, known as Green Hell, DBX’s Mid-curve speed is comparable to that of Aston Martin’s most dedicated sports car Vantage, while vehicle braking data is comparable to that of the brand flagship super GT sports car DBS Superleggera. In the test of the Nurburgring North Ring, the circle speed of the DBX prototype car has reached the 8-minute mark, which shows the strong performance of the SUV.
DBX’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine is built with Aston Martin’s classic calibration and calibration, with a maximum power output of 550 horsepower and a peak torque of 700 cows per meter, bringing a passionate driving experience comparable to that of a super GT sports car. At the same time, extreme speed tests confirm that the maximum speed of DBX will exceed 180 miles per hour (about 290 kilometers per hour), and the final data will be confirmed before the end of the R&D test.
Not only that, Aston Martin’s professional acoustics tuning team, like training symphony orchestras and chords, carefully tunes DBX’s exhaust sound waves to create a broader and more robust auditory experience. DBX’s exhaust system has also been specially designed to bring real acoustic shock with deep bass and full baritone.
"Our engineers have been working tirelessly to tune this 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine to ensure that it provides the elegant comfort and extraordinary comfort expected by the owners of the super luxury brand SUV," said Matt Becker, chief engineer of DBX Global Testing Project. Driving experience. Of course, we also attach great importance to the dynamic performance and driving experience of the vehicle, which is the inherent brand characteristics of Aston Martin and the indisputable outstanding personality of each Aston Martin model. The next few months will be extremely important for us. We will continue to refine and optimize the performance output and dynamic performance of the powertrain to make DBX the most exciting and anticipated super luxury SUV in the market.
