The earliest diamond ring in China

He met Ning Wu.70 cities in #70[The earliest diamond ring in China]# Nanjing Museum#Special exhibition# Source: Nanjing in 99 Cultural Relics#There is a diamond ring in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. This diamond ring was unearthed in the tomb of Wang Fang, a member of the Langyawang family, a nobleman of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, at No. 7 Tomb in Xiangshan, Nanjing. It has a history of more than 1700 years. This ring is 2.2 cm in diameter, with square bucket welded on the finger ring and 1.5 mm in diameter of diamond inlaid in the bucket. It is the earliest diamond ornament found in China. It still shines after thousands of years.
The ring has a distinct Roman craftsmanship. It is speculated from the shape of the quilt that an octahedral diamond crystal protolith may be enclosed with only half of the crystal.
Before the discovery of diamond deposits in America and South Africa, diamonds were only produced in Sri Lanka, Persia and India. This "diamond ring" probably flowed into Nanjing by sea from South Asia during the Eastern Jin Dynasty. During the Six Dynasties, Nanjing city not only led China’s aesthetic culture and life style with "Wei and Jin style", but also an international metropolis with a large number of foreigners, especially the exchanges and trade with the countries in the South China Sea. During this period, spices, fruit, pearls, glaze, amber, crystal, diamond, ivory, rhinoceros horn and so on from other countries became the bulk imports of Nanjing.[奥特曼]The sea and the fields are flying away, and the diamond is forever spreading.
