Summary Which shark species have been studied most in the past decade

Summary: Which shark species have been studied most in the past decade?
For more than 500 known sharks, their research concerns are unbalanced. I used the Web of Science database to analyze the research on different kinds of sharks. Web of Science is one of the most authoritative research databases in the world. The journals included in it are authoritative and representative.
I used the English common names of sharks (sometimes used as filtering conditions) as the title, and limited the date from 2010 to 2019. I counted the number of specialized studies on sharks in the past ten years.
As a result, I have counted the 16 sharks that have been studied the most in the past ten years. The bar chart can be seen at the end of this article.
The following findings were found:
1. Human-eating sharks (Great White Sharks) are the most studied sharks, up to 183 studies. It seems that not only is it well known to the public, but also the researchers pay high attention to it. This is not surprising.
2. Whale sharks and blue sharks rank second and third respectively, with more than 100 studies. The reasons why whale sharks are concerned are as follows: Firstly, they belong to Appendix 2 species. Second, there are rare filter-feeding sharks. Thirdly, in the Philippines and other places, whale shark ornamental tourism has been formed, and part of its research is also from the perspective of developing ecological tourism. The reason why the great blue shark is concerned is: first, it is one of the sharks with the strongest reproductive capacity and the widest distribution. Secondly, it is one of the important victims of both fisheries and fisheries.
3. The white spotted shark ranked fourth. This smaller shark, once an important target of European and American fisheries, has declined sharply and is often caught at the same time. His research is of great significance in fisheries science.
4. Generally speaking, the sharks studied have the following characteristics:
First, it has a relatively important impact on fisheries. For example, white-spotted sharks rank fourth.
Secondly, they are mostly active in offshore and shallow water, which is convenient for research. Ocean shark Great Blue Shark is an exception, but its important influence in fishery activities makes it widely studied.
Thirdly, the vast majority of studies are field studies, which are relatively few in the artificial environment, and the vast majority of studies in the artificial environment are focused on small sharks such as spotted cat sharks.
