乐生活Spheniscus magellanicus, also known as the Machilus ring penguin, is the largest species of temperate penguins, mainly distributed along the coasts of Argentina, Chile and the Falkland Islands in South America, and a small number of them migrated to Brazil. Magellan penguins were discovered by the famous navigator Magellan during his first voyage around the South American continent in 1519, so they got the name.
It is one of the most abundant penguins in the genus Cyclopenguin and is closely related to African penguins, Hung’s Cyclopenguins and Galapagos penguins. The food is fish, shrimp and crustaceans.
The Red List of the World Conservation Union is listed as Near Risk (NT)
