Some people think that people who publicize the protection of sharks do not know and do not care about the damage to the ecological environment in foreign countries, and that the protection of sharks indirectly damages China’s national image. I just want to talk about it.
I know that many people who like sharks are trying to publicize the truth on the Internet and break down the rumors and prejudices of some foreigners about Chinese people. I am like them. Here is some evidence.
Fig. 1: This is what I posted on Deviantart last August to break the rumors that some foreigners and Chinese people support shark fin quot.
The translation is:
I don’t understand why many people insist that most Chinese support shark fin. That’s not true. We Chinese also clearly protect the environment. Shark fin is just an outdated tradition that the younger generation is rejecting.
Fig2. I sent the English version of my novel to deviantart. I clearly pointed out that the man who loved shark protection in the novel was a Chinse Chinese named Liu, who studied marine life. (I typed a wrong word in the second picture. I wrote Liu is his family name and Fan his second name, which should be Fan his first name.)
Please note that Liu Fan’s portrait shows that it’s humans who hate sharks and hurt sharks (not people in a particular country). This responsibility is universal.
I have great respect for the shark-loving predecessors who publicize the truth on the Internet, and I hope to be like them.
