Early to today, let’s take a strange chirp with a screen on top of our head: Victorian Phoenix dove. The Victorian crested dove, about 70 cm long, is a big man, but it is a close relative of the pigeon. It lives in New Guinea and the surrounding islands and feeds on fruit species in the forest. Looking at the face alone, it’s so delicate that I can imagine that its body is probably as slender as a peacock, but actually it looks rather solid.
[Protection level: near danger. The Appendix to the Washington Convention expressly protects species)
