Snail-eating blunt-headed snake![]()
Pareidae, a small Asian snake, has about 23 species and eats almost nothing except terrestrial gastropods. The mandibles of blunt-headed snakes move forward and backward and are covered with barbed teeth. After gripping the snail’s flesh tightly, they drag the beef out of the shell and swallow it bit by bit through the forward and backward movement of their chin, leaving only an empty shell.
