On September 1, 1978, Chirac was shocked when he first faced the magnificent army battle of Qin Terracotta Warriors. He said, "There were seven miracles in the world. The discovery of Qin Terracotta Warriors can be said to be eight miracles." Not looking at the pyramids, not really to Egypt, not to see the terracotta warriors, not really to China.
On November 5, 1991, Chirac visited the Terracotta Warriors and Horses for the second time. In his message, he wrote: "This visit to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses once again confirms the eighth wonder of the world cultural heritage. Through its long history, culture and strength, Chirac can completely compare with the four ancient capitals, namely Athens, Rome and Byzantium."
Chirac is a name familiar to Chinese people. As the successor of the political legacy left by General de Gaulle, he left a deep impression on the development of Sino-French relations and created the golden decade of Sino-French relations.
Chirac died on September 26, 2019 at the age of 86.
On September 1, 1978, Chirac confronted grandeur for the first time.
