On a whim, I made a simple sketch. According to the literature, there are four species of Odontanthias (Bleeker, 1873) in Taiwan and the East China Sea, and one species of Odontanthias, O. flagris, may also be distributed in this area, but the records are too few and no capture records have been seen. Tooth bun is a group of beautiful small fish living in deep-water reefs. It usually moves above or in reefs in a single or small group. Because its habitat overlaps with some deep-water economic fishes such as snapper and grouper, it occasionally becomes a catch of deep-water fishing or longline fishing. The individuals in the pictures are all taken by me and collected in the fish market. Although these small deep-water fish species are of low value, they usually need to be lucky to find them.
