Wannian Temple, now one of the eight major temples in Emei Mountain, is legendary as the place of Dandelion ritual Buddha for the old man who collected medicine in the Han Dynasty. Longan Temple was founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty in five years. Tang Qianfu three years, Huitong reconstruction, renamed Baishui Temple. Song Dynasty called Baishui Puxian Temple. When it was rebuilt in the 28th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, the Holy Longevity Wannian Temple was bestowed by the divine emperor. In 1946, the fire was almost destroyed except for the brick Hall of the Ming Dynasty. The existing two-fold palace was rebuilt after 1953.
There are three treasures in the hall: Buddha’s teeth, palm-leaf scriptures and imperial seal. Buddha’s teeth were donated by foreign monks in the Ming Dynasty and were identified as fossils of the ancient saber-toothed elephant. The Beiye Sutra was presented by the King of Siam in the Ming Dynasty. Royal seal was given by Emperor Ming Shenzong when he built the girderless brick hall, thirteen centimeters square, weighing four kilograms, engraving & quot; Daming Wanli, Royal Title Brick Hall, the treasure of the wise king.
