Mosaic Hotel 2010

[Mosaic Hotel] In 2010, the largest and most complete mosaic image was found in Antioch, Turkey, covering an area of 840 square meters. From the pattern style and stratum analysis, this mosaic should be the floor of a public building in Antioch.
Antioch was the capital of the Seleucid Empire. In 305 B.C., Seleucus I became one of Alexander’s successors. He occupied the territory to the east of the Alexander Empire and established the Seleucid Empire. Until it was annexed by Rome in 64 B.C., Antioch was the capital of the Empire.
The giant mosaic discovered in 2010 is somewhat special. It has a large area. Although it was damaged in several earthquakes from 536 to 528 A.D., the whole mosaic pattern was partly folded by extrusion, but this did not affect the overall picture of the mosaic pattern, but made it look more three-dimensional.
In order not to destroy the integrity of the cultural relics, the local cultural relics department and the hotel have negotiated a new protection method, that is, to build the Mosaic Museum Hotel in situ, which not only avoids the secondary destruction when stripping the mosaic pattern, but also gives the hotel a unique style and characteristics.
During the construction of the hotel, the architect uses special material glass as the covering layer and steel pillars to support the glass. Visitors can stand on the glass and enjoy the panorama and details of mosaic patterns. To ensure the safety of cultural relics, the hotel has halved the number of rooms originally planned to reduce the weight of the glass cover. The hotel also makes a courtyard, people can see mosaic ruins directly below the lobby, no matter in any of the hotel corridors.
This is the first Mosaic Museum Hotel in the world. Making the 1300-year-old mosaic as the lobby floor will surely become another hot spot in Turkey.[奥特曼]
