Morpho peleides is a beautiful butterfly. Black-framed blue sparkling butterfly wings stretch 7.5-20 cm. The color is bright and the pattern is quite complicated. The forefoot is rather degraded, short and clawless. Eggs take many shapes, such as hemispherical, steamed bread, cantaloupe or bowl. The larvae often have protuberances on the head, spines on the body segments, and a series of hooks 1 to 3 in the abdomen and toes. The pupa is a drooping pupa. The male flash butterfly has a brilliant metallic luster on its wings, which is related to the various shapes of scales on its wings. The scale structure of the flash butterfly is complex. Its fine structure is composed of multi-layer three-dimensional fences, similar to the shutters, but its structure is much more complex than the shutters. Refraction, reflection and diffraction will occur when light shines on the wings. Thus, the complex structure on the flickering butterfly wings produces a rainbow-like brilliant color under the effect of optics. When a group of butterflies fly in the rain forest, they shine with blue, green and purple metallic luster. The bottom of the wing is lined with eye-like markings.
