Bob jellyfish is a box jellyfish with highly toxic tentacles. They are found almost all over the waters near the Ryukyu Islands. The Bob jellyfish are found in large numbers in May to October every year, floating about 50 cm above the surface of the sea. It not only perfectly coincides with the time spent by tourists playing on the beach, but also, more importantly, their nearly transparent bodies almost merge with the blue water in the summer sun, making it difficult to be noticed. The Bob jellyfish can reach up to 1.5 meters long with spiny cells on its slender tentacles. When exposed to food such as fish or even human beings, these spines emit poisonous threads P2 outward, just like quenching poisonous needles to break the skin.
If a visitor who plays with water accidentally touches a bob jellyfish with his exposed skin, he will instantly feel a sharp pain like a needle or electric shock, or even lead to shock and death. These slender tentacles are easy to break and adhere to the skin surface with human struggle, leaving a strip of scars.
