Martes flavigula…

Martes flavigula has 10 subspecies. It is named for its obvious yellow-orange throat spot on the front chest. It is a wildlife under the second-level national protection. Different subspecies of yellow-throated mink have various body colours, black, white, golden and brown, and their stratification varies abundantly. Generally speaking, the yellow-throated mink’s head and the back half of its body are black, and the throat and the front half of its body are yellow, so it is named "yellow-throated mink". Because of the color combination of "two black heads and the middle yellow", it is also called "two black heads".
Female and male minks differ significantly in body shape, and male minks weigh more than three times as much as females. The yellow-throated mink is a typical forest animal, which mainly inhabits various types of forest areas (forest areas below 3000 meters above sea level). The yellow-throated mink is diurnal in activity alone or in pairs, but most active in the morning and dusk, and mostly comes out at night in the tropics and places where human activities are more frequent. They often live in evergreen broad-leaved forest and coniferous broad-leaved mixed forest areas, large areas of hilly or mountainous forests. But not affected by forest types, there are traces of yellow-throated mink in the Korean pine forests at minus 30 degrees Celsius in Xiaoxing’an Mountains of Northeast China, the coniferous-broad-leaved mixed forests at suitable temperatures in Qinling Mountains, the monsoon rain forests at 30 degrees Celsius in Xishuangbanna of Yunnan, and the cool alpine forests in Taiwan. Cave dwelling in tree caves and caves, good at climbing steep rocks, swimming skills, agile action.
The yellow-throated mink is independently classified in the genus Mink as a subgenus of the yellow-throated mink (formerly classified as a separate genus), also known as the honey dog because it likes to eat sweet things (honey).
Yellow-throated minks used to be distributed in most parts of China. But now, owing to the loss of habitat and the decrease of prey due to the sharp decrease of forest area, the number of yellow-throated minks, once widely distributed, has been declining, and has become very rare in the wild.
