Loxops mana SB Wilson, 1891

American Species RecordAmerican Birds (Hawaii) — The first endangered bird on this trip: [Loxops mana SB Wilson, 1891] If a previous Hawaiian species is likely to encounter an unnatural enthusiast, then this species is exclusive to serious birder ~it is absolutely invisible not to look for it exclusively.[笑而不语]One of the last more than twenty treasures in Hawaii, the genus Cynoglossus, is a tragedy. There are five species, two extinct species, one critically endangered species and two other endangered species. But compared with the extinction of the whole family, it is still much better. At least the Cynoglossus is an endangered species that is more easily seen in Hawaii.( Relatively speaking, of course; only distributed in Hawaii, but no other islands in history, but evolved other corresponding species of the same genus, foraging like a woodpecker or small Woodpecker in the trunk, branches, to find hidden invertebrates, to make up for the woodpecker’s ecological niche; Today, about 12,000 survivors live in three isolated groups on the island (see map). Two of them live in tropical forests with no access. Most of the remaining forests are classified as wildlife reserves and are not open to the public. The only way to enter is to hire birds with special permits. The guide (no more than three people are allowed to enter the reserve each time, that is to say, every bird guide can support up to 1000 people to enter the reserve every year) leads in. Before entering, all kinds of disinfection should be done to prevent invasive plant seeds from entering. It is for this reason that there are relatively few invasive species in this forest, and there is no disturbance from tourists. The conservation situation is optimistic. Although the diversity of birds in the forest is much worse than before, the number of about 10 species of endemic Passeriformes is still considerable. Because it is a tropical rainforest, it rains almost every day, and there is no exception on the day I went, so the pictures taken in many rains are of poor quality. The group pictures were taken in Hakalau Forest National Wildl, Big Island. Ife Refugenatural# Biodiversity#birdwatching# Bird Watching Diary#@ Stephanie hewish@Pardalotus-punctatus
