#Cultural and historical lens#Jin Fei
Emperor Guangxu (born in 1871) had three concubines. In addition to empress Longyu (born in 1868), there were also a pair of sister flowers, namely, sister Jinfei (born in 1873) and sister Zhenfei (born in 1876). They are the daughter of the right servant of the Ministry of the household, Chang Xu. He is a la surname, who is attached to the red flag of Manchuria.
In the 15th year of Guangxu’s reign, the two sisters entered the palace. The elder sister was first named Jindi, and the later empress dowager Wanshou and Jinfei. In the past 20 years, due to her disobedience to the empress dowager, her sisters were all reduced to the rank of dignitary, and the next year they were all restored to the imperial concubine. After Puyi ascended the throne, she was honored as "the imperial concubine of Kaojin". After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, the small imperial court had the emblem of "emperor Kang, concubine GUI and concubine".
On September 24, 1924, Princess Jin died in Yonghe Palace at the age of 51. Puyi gave her posthumous title to Emperor Wenjing.
In 1921, due to the fierce conflict between Puyi and Jinfei, Su Wan, Puyi’s mother, guarga Youlan, was summoned into the palace by Jinfei to reprimand her. After returning from the palace, she swallowed opium and committed suicide. She was only 37 years old.
