Living fossils have been reported in the news for 200 million years. Let’s look at the old antiques that have made a fortune without murmuring.![]()
1. Portunidae. The earliest fossil record was found in the Cretaceous, about 145-666 million years ago.
2. Lipid Cyprinidae, the earliest fossil record from the Early Cretaceous, about 135-125 million years ago
3. Oncomelania, the earliest fossil record from the Jurassic, about 245 million years ago
4. Marine clams (scallops), at least in the Jurassic, have emerged.
5. Oysters (oysters), the earliest fossil record occurred in the Triassic (about 252-200 million years ago)
6. Crayfish suborder, the earliest fossil record seen in the Permian (about 28-252 million years ago), is a semi-truncated pliers.
7. According to Wikipedia, the earliest fossils of the genus Jiangyao appeared in the Carboniferous period (about 36-280 million years ago). No more information has been found, but at least the Cretaceous subgenus Jiangyao has been widely distributed.
Jiangyao, commonly known as ribbon, has a large seafood market.
8. Cockroaches (cockroaches and termites), the earliest fossil record of which occurred in the Carboniferous Period, about 312 million years ago.
9. Hedgehog shrimp, fossil records began in the Devonian period, about 3853-359.2 million years ago.
These groups appeared very early, and are still very common. Many of them are not younger than the Tachyphus. However, the treatment is quite different. One is obviously very common, but there is a news once, the other is… That’s all.
Why? Because the horseshoe crab looks strange.~![]()
