Li Xiaoga s comments on Sino-US relations at the Davos Forum

Li Xiaoga’s analogy of Sino-US relations at the Davos Forum is interesting:
"Trade is actually a matter of money, the problem that can be solved with money is not a big problem, and an agreement can be reached; the second level is behavioral change. The United States wants China to change its intellectual property theft and other acts, such as stopping smoking and drinking in China, which is much more difficult, but in the long run, China can realize that smoking is rational. Drinking is not good, stopping is not a good thing, but give me some time. If this is what Americans want, there is still the possibility of reaching an agreement. Although it may be painful and long, what Americans want is something on the third level, which can be compared to having to go to church and your children must follow. In some way, you have to stop eating Chinese food, which will never happen.
In the past, at least for some time, "going to church" was considered a good thing by both China and the United States. Now, this is not only the difference between China and the United States, but also the world seems less determined.
