Land Art Going with the Wind

On August 16, Dunhuang, Gansu Province, a huge 64 square metre "relief color sand painting" appeared in Mingsha Mountain, in sharp contrast to the surrounding desert.
Overlooking from the air, Dunhuang elements such as flying sky and nine-color deer are particularly conspicuous. Sunrise and sunset, time gradually passes, sand painting with the wind and sand "dissipation". It was planned by a team of 10 young artists, such as Lu Jie, the founder of fixed-color sand painting in China, for half a year. It took ten days and ten nights to create on-site works to help protect Dunhuang culture.
Sand accumulation, wind erosion and other natural hazards caused by land desertification are the greatest threat to Dunhuang cultural heritage. Through its unique artistic form, this social public welfare event reminds people that Dunhuang can be "painted in sand" but not "desertified". It calls on the public to pay attention to the Dunhuang culture of the millennium and protect the Dunhuang culture.[奥特曼]
