In a scientific report released Tuesday, scientists found that great white sharks not only escape when killer whales arrive at the Marine Animal Reserve near San Francisco, but will not return until the next season begins.
Salvador Jorgenson, a senior research scientist at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and lead author of the study, said: "When they meet a killer whale, great white sharks immediately vacate their favorite hunting grounds and will not return for up to a year, even if the killer whale just happens to pass by."
