There’s a Margarya melanioides in the revised version. Many people think it’s incredible, but it’s reasonable.
This snail is not a general term, it is the genus Margarya melanioides, generally in order to distinguish from other snails, often add the word "ordinary", that is, "ordinary snail". Ordinary snails are actually not common. They are only distributed in plateau lakes in Yunnan, such as Dianchi Lake, and tend to be deep water. Their IUCN rating is Endangered (EN), and they are actually roaming the edge of extinction.
Ordinary snails are very demanding to the environment and only eat diatoms, which makes it difficult for them to survive under artificial conditions. Under the threat of habitat destruction, all snails have gone extinct. The endangered common snails are in a better situation. This is also a problem of the new list – the whole staff of snails are clearly aware. All have capital in the two insurance, but only into a common snail.
Snail powder is not used by snails, but by other members of the family Oncomelania. The snails of Guangxi, such as Margarya nanningensis, have long been buried underground and fossilized. All modern snails are confined to Yunnan lakes. In the vicinity of Dianchi Lake, where the common snail originates, there are also snail-fishing activities, but with the endangerment of the common snail, this species can no longer support the food market.
Among shellfish collectors, snails have a large market. Collection of such specimens generally does not affect the population. Habitat loss is the root cause, but if snails eventually enter the Second Guarantee, such collections may also be unsustainable.
