乐生活In Southeast Asia, there is a monkey with a long nose, Nasalis larvatus. Rhinopithecus is the only species of monkeys belonging to the family Monkeyidae and the genus Rhinopithecus. Unlike other primates, it’s interesting that they can ruminate like cattle and sheep. Its food includes fruit and seeds as well as leaves. Many people think that their big, long noses must have extraordinary skills, but the fact is that so far, people have not found the use of seemingly strange noses, so speculation may be the result of sexual selection. Long-nosed monkeys have large abdomen, and their digestive system is divided into several parts, which helps them digest leaves.
The mating season of Rhinopithecus monkeys is November-February. Females are pregnant for 166-200 days and usually give birth to one baby per fetus for 7 months. Female 5-year-old Sexual Maturity
Long-nosed monkeys are found mainly in mangroves, marshes and riverside forests along the banks of Borneo (Kalimantan Island) in Southeast Asia. There are 10 to 20 monkeys in each group.
