Geranoaetus melanoleucus

Geranoaetus melanoleucus, or short for "Buzzard-eagle", is a unique Eagle bird in South America. According to the latest taxonomy, it is the largest member of the lower body of Buteoninae. Its morphology is quite similar to that of Aquila birds under the subfamily Aquilinae, and hence the name "buzzard-eagle".
An adult female black-breasted Buteo has an average weight of 2.75 kg, a maximum record of 3.17 kg, a wingspan of 1.49-2 m, far exceeding other birds of the subfamily Buteo, but this size is not very large in the realm of "eagle". It is only comparable to the members of the genus Medium-sized True Carving, such as grassland carving, but much worse than a large wrist such as golden carving. As the strongest predator of the subfamily, the Black-breasted Bulbul has a record of killing twice its own weight, the Grey Fox (Urocyon cinereorganargenteus), and its olfactory system is inherently insensitive to the secretions of skunks, so it is also one of the natural enemies that skunks fear (Fig. 6-7). Usually, however, the predator of the black-breasted twin is a rabbit-sized mammal.[doge]
