Day 11 West Palm Beach
Diamond squid
(Thysanoteuthis rhombus)
Squid is a kind of squid belonging to the genus Squid of Squid family Squid, commonly known as diamond squid. It is one of the most famous squid species in black water diving. Its gorgeous body color and thin-film tentacles are impressive.
They are widely distributed in Japan Islands, Ogasawa Islands, Malay Islands, Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, South Africa, Madeira Islands, Mediterranean Sea, Puerto Rico Sea, including the South China Sea and other sea areas. The model originates in the Mediterranean Sea.
Today I met a very young individual, about 1.5 centimeters in length, the pigmented cells have not yet fully developed, and the whole body shows a diamond-like brilliance. I was lucky to find it at 28 meters, and completed another goal on my shooting list. I hope to have a chance to meet bigger and more colorful next time. Individual!
