Dalian Lushun Museum 2016 4.

Photograph by Lushun Museum, Dalian, 2016/4

The first museum I visited as a child was very impressed by the four King Kong figures, which I thought was very big at that time. There’s a mummy exhibition. I dare not go to see it. I heard there was a leather glove on the glass cabinet at that time. You can touch it. I don’t know the truth. There are nine mummies (five males and four females) in the Lushun Museum. They were found in Astana Cemetery in Turpan, Xinjiang, about 100 years ago. They were purchased by Japanese scholars and later entered the Tibetan Lushun Museum. They are all nobles of Gaochang State, from the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the early Tang Dynasty. At present, there are two pieces on display (Fig. 8). Staff are closely watching them. Photographs are prohibited and wax figures are not available.
The Lushun Museum was founded in 1917. It has gone through the stages of "Guandong Dufu Manmeng Property Museum", "Guandong Dufu Museum", "Guandong Hall Museum", & quot; "Lushun Oriental Culture Museum" & quot; "Lushun History and Culture Museum". Its current name is President Guo’s title in 1954. In 2008, the first batch was awarded the "National First-Class Museum" rating.
