Callanwolde Manor. Unintentionally passed a large house in the east of Atlanta. This house used to be the private estate of Asa Griggs Candler’s oldest son, Howard.
He was an alumni of Amory. He also donated his property and his home to Amory after he died. (Amory was jokingly said that he was a university). The architect who designed the house also designed Emory University. Although the whole building was at the end of the nineteenth Century, it adopted the Gothic Tudor elements to fuse modern materials and interior decoration.
Later, the house was taken over by a foundation and rebuilt by the local government. It is now an art center and can be visited at will.
(it seems that there are quite a lot of historical fragments scattered in the country hills, and we need to explore them slowly).
