The blue peacock (Pavo cristatus), also known as the Indian peacock, is one of two species of peacocks in the genus Pheasant, and the other is the green peacock. Because they eat young cobras, they are very popular in India. They are not hunted in many places. They can be very close relatives. The male is an Indian national bird. Behavioral biology suggests that the long tail feathers of male blue peacocks can be used to indicate the health of an animal. Female blue peacocks are more susceptible to male birds with more eyes.
According to the World Conservation Union (IUCN), the number of blue peacocks has been decreasing in recent years, but in general, the number of blue peacocks is still quite high, so it belongs to non-threatened animals.
