Fayuan Temple, Beijing (1) 2012/6
After reading a commentary on Li Ao’s novel on the plane, I thought of Fayuan Temple. This is the oldest monastery in Beijing. In Tang Dynasty, it was pity and loyalty monastery. In Qing Dynasty, Yongzheng was renovated and renamed as the present name. In 1956, the Chinese Buddhist Academy was established in the monastery. Near the south of the monastery, there is the ruins square of the Mercy and loyalty monastery. The trees and green spaces are the leisure places for the elderly. Not far from the east of the monastery is the street where Tan Si lived together. It seems that there are still residents.
