The blending of Tibetan Buddhism did not begin with the Han gods. When Buddhism first entered Tibet, in order to facilitate local acceptance, many Ben gods and local beliefs were recast by Buddhism, or were included in the ranks of Buddhist gods, or were sealed as local gods of protection.
When Yonghe Palace was transformed into a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, Guan Gong was also honored as the patron god. Yonghe Palace, the first Kanbu III Zhangjia Living Buddha, also created a prayer for Master Guan Sang.
Later, Guan Gong was taken to the snowy plateau. The monks also verified his Tibetan identity. Such as praise of God, sister deity of Wei Ze, advocating demon-descending King Kong, and King Gesar.
