Ardenna Pacifica Gmelin, 1789

American Species RecordAmerican Bird Patterns (Hawaii) — A recent contact with the tube nose: [Ardenna Pacifica Gmelin, 1789] Bird-watching friends all know that there is a kind of bird that lives in the sea and eats, drinks and sleeps almost without going to land, especially in the deep sea off the continental shelf. It is the nocturnal birds, including albatrosses, storks, petrels and parrots, which are 4-5 families. They are so well adapted to life in the ocean that they hardly need fresh water, and the excess salt can be discharged from the tubular nostrils; hence the name of the nocturnal birds; they are known as "ugly" (hard to see, not ugly), depending on them. To go to sea by boat, unless on an offshore island, the probability of seeing them on the coast is so small that I now see them feeling seasick.[允悲]This time in Hawaii, we saw not only the breeding albatrosses on land, but also the tail-shearing storks nesting in the caves, which are close to the albatrosses almost zero distance contact. Figure 3 shows their caves, which are very close to the coast. Every evening, adults wandering for a day will return to the caves to feed the young birds.
