乐生活Acerodon jubatus, also known as the Philippine fruit bat, is a rare family of fox bats and is the largest bat in the world. They are endangered and may be extinct by hunting. They are found only in caves and rainforests in the Philippine province of Salangani.
The bristle-toothed fox bat is nocturnal, with a wingspan of at least 1.5 meters and a weight of about 1.2 kilograms. They can fly up to 40 kilometers in search of food, mainly eating a variety of fruits, especially figs. Because they specialize in fruit, they can help spread seeds and contribute a lot to forest replanting.
The Philippine government is planning to protect the bristled fox bat from extinction. Their numbers have exceeded 1,000, but they have been dramatically reduced by loss of habitat and hunting.
