A young shallow sea fox (Alopias pelagicus) was sampled at a fishing port yesterday. It is the longtail shark closest to the coastal reefs and the smallest of the three existing long tail sharks. The occurrence rate of shallow-sea long-tailed sharks in Taiwan’s fishing ports is not low. They are common in fishing ports in eastern and southwestern Taiwan and are generally caught by longline fishing. This species is one of the sharks with good meat quality and high utilization value.

In addition, the model origin of this species is from Taiwan, Soviet Union and Australia, which was published by Nakamura in 1935.
