Inspired by the Large Hadron Collider, British artist Kate Findlay designed and manually sewed many patchwork blankets and quilts. Most of them are 60x60cm and 130x130cm.
The contrast between Cold machinery and warm quilts is also interesting.
"When I sewed the last piece, I suddenly felt a burst of nervousness and fear," she said. Later, however, she was able to "sleep, eat, drink, dream and live" in the collider.
Figure 8 is sewn on a quilt, and Figure 9 is the real body of the collider.
