The First Exhibition of Fengxian Museum in Shanghai-Yongzheng Palace Museum Cultural Relics Exhibition

The New Museum of Shanghai Fengxian Museum, which covers an area of 20,000 square meters, will be put into operation after May 18 (International Museum Day). The three-month "Yongzheng Palace Museum Cultural Relics Exhibition" will also appear as a special exhibition for the opening of the museum, and now has an open reservation.
The 120 exhibits borrowed by the Palace Museum in Beijing include jade seals, telescopes, glasses, court clothes, muskets and porcelains, enamels, lacquerware, paintings and calligraphy used by Yongzheng. For the first time, the exhibition restored the "Military Aircraft Office" created by Yongzheng, and recreated the Kang tables, candlesticks and other facilities used by Yongzheng and ministers.
The reason why the exhibition was held in Fengxian Museum is that Yongzheng and Fengxian have profound origins. According to historical records, in 1724 (Yongzheng 2 years), Yongzheng Xia aimed at establishing Fengxian County, Jinshan County, Nanhui County and Fuquan County in Songjiang Prefecture in order to strengthen the tax administration in the south of the Yangtze River. This is the beginning of Fengxian County. This historical material is now kept in the Palace Museum of Taipei.
In 1725 (three years of Yongzheng), Yongzheng ordered the construction of stone ponds along the coast of Fengxian to solve the flood problem. It took 10 years to build a 10-kilometer coastal stone pond. In Zhelin Town, Fengxian District, there are still 4.5 kilometers of stone ponds left.
"Yongzheng Palace Museum Cultural Relics Exhibition" will last from May 16 to August 16, Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 16:30 p.m., Monday closed all day for three months, free of charge.
